A Message to our Five Guys Family on COVID-19

 

Dear Five Guys Customers,

As the impact of COVID-19 grows, we think it is important that you hear directly from us about the mitigation efforts we have enacted to reduce the risk to you and our employees.

Our focus remains on the health and safety of our employees and customers, while doing our part to restrict the spread of disease. We know it is critical for us to be transparent with information, and to be as proactive and reactive as we can be.

We have reinforced our standard cleaning procedures, while adding increased frequency measures for things such as wiping down all touch points, counters, tables, condiment areas, drink stations, door handles and register terminals. These enhanced sanitizing procedures were implemented more than two weeks ago. We also continue to reinforce our policy for reporting illness. Not only are restaurants instructed to inform us if an employee may have been exposed to the coronavirus, are being treated or tested for the coronavirus, or are experiencing flu-like systems, employees are also directed to stay home should they feel ill.

At this time, store operations and hours vary by region. While some restaurants continue to offer dine-in service, others are limited to pickup (via online ordering) and/or delivery service. We are adhering to government mandates in areas that have enacted them. Please contact your local restaurant with any questions. We will not hesitate to proactively close restaurants should we believe there is a risk to our employees or customers, but will do so on a store-by-store basis.

This situation continues to change daily and as such, we will continue to follow the guidance provided by the CDC and local health departments, in addition to doing all that we can to help keep our employees, customers and the community safe.
